New Bedford Watch

The New Bedford watch wraps twice around your wrist, a la Hermés double-tour watches. Sachs extended the existing rubber strap with a leather band, which is scraped, tanned, trimmed, and stitched by hand to fit your wrist comfortably and securely.

Comes in a cotton drawstring bag with typed label, hand signed by the artist. Watch is engraved with the artist's signature, serial number, and strap length.

To obtain custom fit, wet thoroughly. Pat dry with towel. Wear damp watch so it molds to wrist. Do this only once or twice. Avoid doing this too much as bacteria will grow on leather strap. Once watch is molded, always keep it dry and conditioned with leather conditioner. If it gets stinky, clean with saddlesoap and let dry in the direct sunlight. Hairdryer will dry out the leather and fuck it up. Direct sunlight (UV) will kill the bacteria. This approach also works on shoes.
